The short film begins with Jace Lipstein, Grungy Gentleman's founder and designer, in New Orleans for the 2017 NBA All-Star Games. It ends in New York where Jace visits Timberland on 34th Street and Madison Square Garden to check out his new collections on display.
Grungy Gentleman x Timberland debuted their collaboration with a launch event on Friday, February 17th at The Jaxson in New Orleans during the NBA All-Star Games. Jace Lipstein and the Grungy Gentleman crew, along with Timberland and Maui Jim, tipped off NBA All-Star Weekend with cocktails by Cîroc including “The Cîroc Perfect Shot”, “The Courtside,” and “The Cherry Pick,” small bites, and a preview of the collection Timberland was dropping with Grungy Gentleman’s signature six-stripe insignia. Grungy Gentleman x Timberland collection was available on Timberland.com and in 14 retail stores across the country, all 3 styles sold out.
Maui Jim sunglasses and Nivea Men products filled the Styling Suite. Attendees such as New Orleans Saints Mark Ingram, Travaris Cadet, New York Knicks Langston Galloway and Martin Porzingis helped celebrate the new collection. Throughout the weekend private previews of the collection for athletes, editors and other special guests took place at Grungy Gentleman's penthouse in the French Quarter.
On Sunday February 19th, Mitchell & Ness hosted an event at the Jackson Brewery showcasing the Grungy Gentleman x New York Knicks hats and full Grungy Gentleman x Mitchell & Ness hat collections. Attendees like rapper Fabolous, rapper Wale, comedian Hannibal Buress, former NBA star Jack McCIinton, host Lance Fresh, Don C, producer DJ Clark Kent, Ronnie Singh aka Ronnie 2K and more made appearances.
