Despite the fact that Independence Day is a full 2 weeks after the start of summer, most people, especially New Yorkers, consider this the unofficial beginning of summer. With the inaugural New York Fashion Week: Men’s a mere week after 4th of July, we wanted to make the most of our last weekend before we hit full on prep mode for our show.
Friday night we teamed up with the folks over at Carnivor Cabernet, a bold red wine with a millennial male audience to do a dinner at our house for a few of our friends from the city who were out east for the weekend. With attendees ranging from creative teams, to brand directors, to photographers, we had every facet of the fashion industry covered. The dinner was specially curated for the evening by celebrated chef Ed Cotton who delivered dish after dish of pure culinary excellence. The consistent topic of the night revolved around Devouring Life, as many of the attendees pitched in their current and past stories on how they Devour Life.
The next day was the big day to celebrate Independence Day on the beach, or in this case at Surf Lodge which is pretty damn close to being the beach. So after a quick prayer to the weather gods pleading for no rain and clear skies, we set out for Montauk where Corona was throwing an Electric Beach pop up with special guests Chromeo. As the weather got better the party electrified and then burst with energy when Chromeo took the decks. Guests danced on the beach well into the evening and enjoyed a magnificent Montauk sunset.
The last day was for recovery, and we all took in the last bit of sun our bodies could handles and took some well-deserved naps by the pool. With fashion week fast approaching, we took some time to recharge and reenergize for the coming week.
