HSTRY, founded by Nasir Jones debuts for fall 2013 in the form of a men's lifestyle collection in collaboration with Grungy Gentleman. The thirty-three piece collection consists of contemporary outerwear and accessories. Its color story consists of black, white, oxblood, and iridescent. Quilted designs can be seen throughout, from the sleeves of a motorcycle jacket to Grungy Gentleman's signature elbow patches on flannel shirting.
Neoprene is incorporated into the debut collection via a peacoat and vest, while crewneck sweaters and hoodies are made of ultra soft fleece combined with leather accents. GQ explains, “A clothing and accessories lineup that takes classic sportswear items into tougher, edgier territory with quilted leather accents and mixed media finishes.”
Accessories include leather backpacks, face masks, wool strap-back hats and beanies. All products are 100% made in America. Leather ski masks add a hint of “stylish menace to the sleek, modern look of the collection,” proclaims Women’s Wear Daily. "Clothes represent happiness. They're our protection – even a reflection of what's in our heads, our thoughts and ideas. Hence the phrase, ‘wearing our hearts on our sleeves,’” said Nas philosophically. “With HSTRY, I'm embracing our greatest moments recorded in time in the form of premium street fashion.”“We wanted to make clothes that guys can wear comfortably but that are superfresh with some kick,” stated Lipstein. “It’s streetwear meets high fashion.” The line will be available on an e-commerce site that Grungy Gentleman is launching August 1st. HSTRY will also follow suit and launch their own online shop on the same date. The duo has already started work on a spring line, which will bring pants, shorts, T-shirts and baseball and basketball jerseys to the HSTRY assortments.
